This Privacy Policy applies whether you access the Services as a participant, career coach, customer, visitor, subscriber, or authorized user.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to information collected by third-party websites, applications, products, or services that are not owned or controlled by The Placement Gurus. Any such third-party services are governed by their own privacy policies and practices.
5. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect information directly from users, information generated through use of the Services, and information collected automatically through technology and infrastructure supporting the platform.
When users create accounts, communicate with us, participate in coaching activities, submit information through forms, complete assessments, subscribe to services, or otherwise interact with the platform, we may collect personal information including names, email addresses, telephone numbers, usernames, account credentials, professional information, employment information, educational information, skills, certifications, career interests, and other information voluntarily provided by users.
The Services are designed to facilitate career coaching and workforce development activities. Accordingly, authorized users may create and manage profiles relating to participants, job seekers, students, and clients. Such profiles may include information regarding educational history, employment history, skills, qualifications, certifications, coaching progress, assessments, career goals, and job-search activities.
Some information we collect, such as certain details contained in resumes or assessments, may constitute Sensitive Personal Information under applicable law. Where required, we process such information consistent with applicable law and the choices described in Section 14.
User-Generated Content
The Services permit users to create, upload, submit, store, and manage content, including resumes, profile information, coaching notes, assessments, communications, career-development materials, and other information (“User-Generated Content”).
User-Generated Content may contain Personal Information relating to the user or other individuals. Information submitted through the Services may be visible to authorized users based upon the functionality of the platform, including Career Coaches, Participants, administrators, and other authorized users.
Users are responsible for ensuring that any User-Generated Content submitted through the Services is accurate and that they possess all necessary rights, permissions, authorizations, and consents required to provide such information.
We may also collect information contained in communications with users, including support requests, inquiries, surveys, feedback submissions, feature requests, and correspondence.
Additionally, we collect information relating to subscriptions and transactions. Payment transactions are processed through Stripe and other authorized payment providers. Although we do not store complete payment card information, we may receive transaction identifiers, billing information, payment status information, and limited details such as your name and email address, necessary to administer accounts and provide the Services. We do not receive full payment card details.
6. INFORMATION COLLECTED AUTOMATICALLY
When users access or interact with the Services, certain information is collected automatically through our systems and technologies.
This information may include internet protocol addresses, browser information, operating system information, device identifiers, usage patterns, pages viewed, referring websites, session information, interaction data, performance metrics, diagnostic information, and similar technical information.
We use this information to operate and maintain the Services, monitor performance, improve functionality, troubleshoot technical issues, enhance user experiences, analyze trends, develop new features, prevent fraud, and maintain platform security.
We may combine automatically collected information with information collected from other sources in order to better understand user needs and improve the Services.
7. COOKIES AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES
Like many online platforms, SIGNAL utilizes cookies, pixels, tags, software development kits, and similar technologies to support platform functionality, improve user experience, analyze usage, and support marketing activities.
These technologies enable us to recognize users, maintain secure sessions, remember preferences, understand how users interact with the Services, and evaluate the effectiveness of communications and advertising campaigns.
The advertising and measurement technologies currently active on the Services are the Meta Pixel and the Google Ads tag. These technologies collect information about your visit, such as pages viewed and actions taken, to help us measure and improve our advertising, and they may be active when you use the Services. Our website is hosted on Framer.
Certain third-party providers may collect information regarding interactions with the Services and, in some cases, interactions with other websites or online services. Such information may be used to personalize experiences, improve platform performance, measure advertising effectiveness, and deliver relevant content.
Depending on where you live, the use of these advertising technologies may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under applicable state law.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Our Services do not currently respond to “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control browser signals. You can limit this collection through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting cookies, and through the advertising platforms directly, for example Google Ads Settings and Meta’s ad preferences, as well as industry opt-out tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info) and the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org).
Most web browsers permit users to manage cookies through browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality or availability of certain features of the Services.
8. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FEATURES
Certain portions of the Services utilize artificial intelligence and machine-learning technologies to support workforce development, career readiness, profile development, job matching, resume analysis, recommendation generation, scoring, and related functionality.
To provide these features, we use third-party AI providers, currently Anthropic and OpenAI, which we access through their commercial APIs. Your inputs, such as resume or profile text and job descriptions, are sent to these providers to generate the requested output.
Information processed through AI-enabled features may include Resume Data, profile information, educational information, employment history, skills information, assessment responses, career goals, and other information voluntarily submitted through the platform.
Under our agreements with these providers, they do not use your data to train or improve their AI models and do not retain it beyond what is needed to provide the service. The Company likewise does not use Customer Data or Personal Information to train AI models. SIGNAL’s job-fit match scoring is deterministic and uses no AI model. AI Features provide decision-support only and do not make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning an individual.
The Company utilizes AI technologies as tools intended to assist users and coaches. AI-generated outputs are intended to provide recommendations, insights, analyses, assessments, and suggestions. Because artificial intelligence systems are probabilistic in nature, outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, biased, or otherwise unsuitable for a particular purpose.
Users remain responsible for reviewing, evaluating, and validating AI-generated outputs before relying upon them. The Placement Gurus does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or suitability of AI-generated content and does not recommend that such content be used as the sole basis for educational, employment, legal, financial, medical, or other significant decisions.
9. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
The Placement Gurus uses information collected through the Services for business and operational purposes related to providing, maintaining, securing, and improving the platform.
We use information to create and administer accounts, facilitate coaching activities, generate recommendations and insights, process transactions, provide customer support, communicate with users, personalize experiences, maintain platform security, enforce agreements, investigate misconduct, comply with legal obligations, and improve the quality and effectiveness of the Services.
Information may also be used to evaluate performance, develop new features, improve algorithms, conduct analytics, identify trends, understand user engagement, and support workforce development initiatives.
Where appropriate, we may use aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information for research, reporting, service improvement, product development, benchmarking, workforce analytics, and other lawful business purposes.
10. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION
We may share information with Third-Party Service Providers that assist us in operating, maintaining, securing, supporting, and improving the Services.
These providers may perform services relating to hosting, cloud infrastructure, payment processing, artificial intelligence processing, analytics, communications, customer support, marketing, advertising, security monitoring, and related operational functions.
Our providers may include organizations such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Stripe, Supabase, Google, Meta, Framer, GoDaddy, Calendly, and other vendors that support our business operations. Such providers are generally permitted to access information only as necessary to perform services on our behalf and are expected to maintain appropriate safeguards for information entrusted to them.
We also allow advertising and analytics providers, currently Google and Meta, to collect certain online identifiers and activity through cookies and pixels for advertising and measurement. Depending on your state of residence, this may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. You can limit it using the browser, platform, and industry opt-out options described in Section 7.
When a Career Coach enters information about a Participant, the Company generally processes that information on the Coach’s behalf as a service provider or processor, and the Coach is responsible for its relationship with, and for obtaining any required consent from, the Participant. A Participant who wishes to exercise privacy rights as to such information may need to contact the Coach who entered it.
Information may also be shared among authorized users of the Services when necessary to provide intended platform functionality. For example, information relating to a Participant may be accessible to an authorized Career Coach, and information entered by a Career Coach may be available to authorized Participants as part of the coaching relationship and operation of the platform.
We may disclose information where required by law, regulation, court order, subpoena, legal process, governmental request, or other legal obligation. We may also disclose information when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, security, property, or legitimate interests of the Company, our users, or others, or to investigate suspected fraud, misconduct, security incidents, or violations of our agreements.
11. DATA RETENTION
The Placement Gurus retains Personal Information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, provide the Services, maintain business records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect the security and integrity of the platform.
The period for which information is retained varies depending upon the type of information involved, the purpose for which it was collected, applicable legal requirements, contractual obligations, and legitimate business needs. Account information may be retained for the duration of a user's relationship with the Services, while transaction records, security logs, communications, and certain operational records may be retained for longer periods where necessary to satisfy legal, regulatory, accounting, tax, security, or business requirements.
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, after which we delete, anonymize, or de-identify it.
When Personal Information is no longer required for the purposes for which it was collected, we will take reasonable measures to delete, anonymize, de-identify, or securely dispose of the information in accordance with applicable law and our internal retention practices.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, we may retain information where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, establish or defend legal claims, investigate misconduct, prevent fraud, enforce contractual rights, or maintain appropriate security and business records.
12. DATA SECURITY
The Placement Gurus implements and maintains administrative, technical, organizational, and physical safeguards designed to protect Personal Information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, misuse, destruction, or loss.
Our security measures may include access controls, authentication procedures, encryption technologies, monitoring systems, vendor oversight practices, security reviews, and other safeguards designed to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information entrusted to us.
While we strive to utilize commercially reasonable measures to protect information, no method of transmission over the internet, electronic storage system, or information security program can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee absolute security and disclaim liability for unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of account credentials and for promptly notifying us if they become aware of unauthorized access to their accounts or other security concerns relating to the Services.
13. INFORMATION RELATING TO MINORS

We do not permit information about any individual under the age of thirteen (13) to be collected through the Services. Where a Career Coach enters information about a Participant who is between thirteen (13) and seventeen (17), the Coach is responsible for obtaining any consent required by applicable law from the Participant’s parent or legal guardian, as described in the Coach’s agreement with us.
Where required by applicable law, Personal Information relating to minors should only be submitted with the authorization of a parent, legal guardian, educational representative, career coach, or other authorized individual.
The Services are not directed to children under the age of thirteen. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under thirteen in violation of applicable law. If we become aware that Personal Information has been collected from a child under thirteen without the authorization required by law, we will take reasonable steps to investigate and, where appropriate, delete such information.
Parents and guardians who believe a child may have submitted information through the Services may contact us using the information provided in the Contact Us section below.
14. YOUR PRIVACY CHOICES AND RIGHTS
Depending upon your location and applicable law, you may have certain rights relating to your Personal Information.
These rights may include the right to: confirm whether we process your Personal Information and access it; correct inaccurate Personal Information; delete Personal Information; obtain a portable copy of certain Personal Information; opt out of the sale or sharing of Personal Information; opt out of Targeted Advertising; opt out of profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects; and limit the use of Sensitive Personal Information.
Do Not Sell or Share; Targeted Advertising. We use advertising technologies as described in Section 7. We do not currently respond to Global Privacy Control signals. You can limit advertising-related collection using the browser, platform, and industry opt-out options described in Section 7, and you can contact us at support@stopapplyingblind.com with any privacy request.
Users may also opt out of receiving promotional communications by following the unsubscribe instructions contained within those communications or by contacting us directly. Even if you opt out of marketing communications, we may continue to send account-related, transactional, operational, security, legal, or service-related communications necessary to provide the Services.
We may require verification of identity before responding to certain requests and reserve the right to deny requests where permitted by applicable law. Certain rights may be limited by legal exceptions, contractual obligations, security requirements, or other lawful considerations.
If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response, and we will inform you of the outcome of the appeal as required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
Requests relating to privacy rights may be submitted by contacting support@stopapplyingblind.com.
15. ACCOUNT DELETION
Users may request deletion of their accounts through available account management functionality or by contacting the Company directly.
Upon receipt of a valid deletion request, we will take reasonable steps to delete, anonymize, or de-identify Personal Information associated with the account, subject to applicable legal obligations, contractual requirements, security considerations, and legitimate business needs.
Certain information may continue to be retained following account deletion where necessary to complete transactions, maintain security records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, investigate misconduct, prevent fraud, or protect the rights and interests of the Company, its users, or third parties.
Deletion of an account does not necessarily result in the immediate removal of information from backup systems, archived records, disaster recovery systems, or legally required retention systems.
16. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
The Services are operated from the United States. Personal Information collected through the Services may be stored, processed, accessed, and transferred within the United States and other jurisdictions where the Company, its affiliates, or its Third-Party Service Providers maintain operations.
By accessing or using the Services, users acknowledge and consent to the transfer, processing, and storage of information in jurisdictions that may have privacy laws different from those of their home jurisdiction.
Where required by applicable law, we will implement reasonable safeguards designed to protect Personal Information transferred across national borders.
17. THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES AND SERVICES
The Services may contain links to third-party websites, applications, platforms, resources, or services that are not owned, operated, or controlled by The Placement Gurus.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to the privacy practices of third parties. We are not responsible for the content, security, privacy practices, data collection activities, or policies of third-party websites or services.
Users are encouraged to review the privacy policies, terms of use, and practices of any third-party services before providing Personal Information to those services.
18. DO NOT TRACK SIGNALS
Certain web browsers and devices provide features commonly known as “Do Not Track” signals that are intended to communicate a user's preference regarding online tracking activities.
Because there is currently no universally accepted standard governing how online services should interpret or respond to such signals, SIGNAL does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals or similar browser-based mechanisms.
Our Services also do not currently respond to Global Privacy Control signals. You can limit advertising-related collection using the options described in Section 7.
We may continue to collect information as described in this Privacy Policy regardless of whether a Do Not Track signal has been received.
19. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We reserve the right to update, revise, modify, or replace this Privacy Policy at any time to reflect changes in our business practices, technology, legal obligations, operational requirements, or Services.
When material changes are made, we will update the Effective Date appearing at the beginning of this Privacy Policy and may provide additional notice where required by applicable law.
The most current version of this Privacy Policy will govern our collection, use, disclosure, and processing of information. Continued access to or use of the Services following publication of a revised Privacy Policy constitutes acknowledgment of the updated Policy.
